Board of Directors
Tim, Executive Director, has been taking care of birds for over 30 years now. Throughout the years, Tim has cared for over 500 birds from finches to macaws. Although he did not technically operate a rescue, he quickly became known in local circles as the "Birdman " and consequently has rescued many birds and found them loving homes. Now with HealthiPet Network, Tim plans on applying his expertise with birds to help run the overflow rescue.
Robert, Director, has been involved with birds and bird care for the past 8 years. He has knowledge and experience with all types of birds ranging from budgies to macaws. His hands-on philosophy will be a great addition to the Network.
Tommy, Director, here with Elmer, a Congo African Grey, has a CAG of his own at home. Although Tommy has not been involved with birds as long as some of us, his willingness and ability to learn and maintain has amazed us all.
Vicki, Temp. Director, has been working and involved with birds for many years now. They are her passion. She has several of her own companion birds at home but still finds time to devote to those in need.
Director to be Assigned
We currently have one director's position open and are looking to replace this position soon.
Voting for permanent positions will take place at annual meeting to be held in June.
Tony working with Attie, a gorgeous Shamrock Macaw. Tony has been working with birds for about 10 years now and has been with Healthipets for over a year. On the other side Tony is working with one of our biggest cuddlebugs, Rocky. Rocky is a 32 year old umbrella cockatoo and he is a real sweetheart!
Steven is one of our volunteers at the rescue. He already demonstrates a great compassion for the birds and is very eager to learn all that he can about the different types of birds and their behaviors. Here he is with Waldo, a very brightly colored Sun Conure that took quite a shine to Steven. On the right he is with Paco, a blue-fronted amazon.
Stephanie with Glacier, a gorgeous icy blue budgie. Stephanie tends to prefer the little guys for right now as she is not quite sure just how to take the macaws yet. She is planning on working her way up to the larger birds, but hey, the little fellows need lovin too. Not one to waste time, Stephanie has already upgraded her birdie buddie to an amazon. Paco looks quite content with her, doesn't he?
Kandi is fairly new to birds, but you sure wouldn't know it. Her bird handling skills are awesome! She is definately a natural. She is shown here with Cali, a Calico Macaw and Dini, a Patagonian Conure.
Janet is one of our newer volunteers and drives all the way from the Westside of Indianapolis to help us out. She has a timneh grey at home and comes in both to help out and to learn from her experiences to make life better for her companion at home.
Chad from Noblesville is shown here with his buddy Mel, a male eclectus that has a plucking problem and a heart murmur. He will be going in for surgery soon. Chad is also shown holding Max, a blue and gold macaw with a slight plucking problem that has been getting much better since we took him in.
