Healthipet Network

News

We are now taking deposits and reservations for our first ever fundraising cruise.  We are so excited about this as it is an awesome way to raise great funds for our rescue as well as a great way to meet and enjoy other fellow bird lovers in a one of a kind perfect Caribbean setting.  The cruise will be on Carnival Triumph and will be departing from Miami on September 7th, 2008.   We will be stopping at three exciting ports of call:  Cozumel, Mexico; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; and Grand Cayman Island.  For pricing and  booking information please go to www.lacystraveltreasures.com and click on upcoming cruises.  We hope to see most of you on this wonderful fundraising adventure.  Bon Voyage!

Our annual fundraising auction took place on Sunday May 4th, 2008.  This event actually ended up growing and turning into Healthipet Family Fundays.  The day long event, from 10:00 am-6:00 pm featured many exciting factors throughout the day.  We had organ music, a rock band, ballroom dance lessons, Animalia presentation, refreshments, adoptathon, face painting, and our fundraising auction.  It turned out to be a profitable event, but we also learned alot from it and hope to make it even biggr and better next year.

We are always looking for ways to raise money for Healthipet Network.  Please get your minds to working and send us any ideas or thoughts you may have.  We are always looking for fresh ideas and assistance in generating funding for our Network.  Any help we can get is always greatly appreciated.

Come join us on our Yahoo group site and help us spread the word.   Just go to healthipets-subscribe@yahoogroups.com to join or email mambomacaw@sbcglobal.net and have him send you an invite.  It's that simple and is a great group to belong to.  Hope to see you all there.

This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first. So much is going on and we continue to grow with your help and support. Please be patient with us as we continue to work on our site!

We are working feverishly on getting our site updated and current now after finally resolving technical problems that were preventing us from adding to our website.   We have begun adding our available birds to the site, along with applications for home checkers and rescues.  We've added more pictures and information.  We still have a long way to go, but please know that we are working on this constantly to get everything as current as possible.  Please bear with us as we work through this.

We have begun putting bios and pictures of our approved Homecheckers on the site now.  Be sure to check them out periodically as we continue to grow.

Events

Here you will find information on upcoming events that we are participating in and information on events that we have been to or participated in.

 2008

We are currently planning many fundraising events for our 2008 season and hope that many of you will join in and help us as we raise money to further our efforts in helping displaced avians and exotic animals.  If anybody has any ideas for fundraisers please contact Tim Lacy to discuss.  We welcome all ideas.

February 23rd and 24th we sat up a booth at the Auburn, IN Home Show.  Our purpose was to get our name out there and educate people on the proper care of birds and the why's and why nots of getting a bird for a pet.  We also solicited for donations and raised $40.  Dedicated members Paul and Candy sponsored this event by paying for our booth rental as well as putting us all up for two nights at their home.  Many warm thanks to them for their hospitality and generosity.  Below are a few pics from the event.

March 9, 2008 Tim will be speaking at the Kentuckiana Feathered Friends meeting in Louisville, KY.  Tim, Robert, and possibly another volunteer or two will be taking a few of our birds down and Tim will be giving an overview of what all our organization does and plans on doing in the future.  The Feathered Friends picked our organization to honor and bestow a donation to and asked Tim to give a presentation on our group.

April 26, 2008 we once again attended and set up at the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo, MI.  This is an annual event that just started last year and has enjoyed overwhelming response and praise.  We were a part of it last year and were thrilled to be asked back again for this year's event.  This year's event was even bigger and better than last year's.  We took several birds and volunteers to assist with this.  Please let us know if you are interested in being a part of this event in the future.

Sunday May 4th, 2008 we had our first ever annual fundraising auction.  We were blessed with many wonderful donations of items or services to be auctioned off.  We are hoping to make this an annual event.  Please try to help out with this fundraiser in the future in any way that you can.  The auction was actually a part of our Healthipet Family Funday.  The event lasted from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm with the auction taking place at 1:00 pm.  We had fun events going on all day long such as face painting, refreshments, big bouncy toys for kids, a bird booth, etc.  Scheduled events and entertainment included Animalia exotic animal show, ballroom dance lessons, country singer Linda Gossett, organ music by Norma Pugsley, soft rock band MLP, etc.  Come join us for fun.

Fall of 2008 we are offering our first ever Carnival Group Cruise as a fundraising event.  It is set for September 7th, 2008 and is a 7 day cruise.  It departs from Miami and goes to Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Cozumel, Mexico.    Please keep this in mind as this could be a great benefit both to our Network as well as those desiring to take an affordable cruise while helping support the Healthipet Network.  We have great prices and still have a few cabins left.  Please contact us asap if interested.

We are planning on starting our Calendar fundraising the first of August.  Be sure to help us out by selling as many as you can and encouraging others to do so as well.  For every calendar we sell we earn $10 for the Network.  This could add up quickly and is one of our easiest and quickest ways to raise money for the birds.  We hope everybody plans on being an active part of the team and helps us help them.  You can download an order form right here.   images\Documents\Parrotsatplayorderform.doc
