Florida: Davis

Valerie from Davis, FL has been approved and her bio and pic will be uploaded soon.

Georgia:  Loganville

Paula from Loganville, GA with Storm and Jake.  When Paula met her husband's mother at the tender age of 17, she was introduced to her small breeding facility for macaws.  Paula was instantly hooked and began helping out wherever she could.  She now takes Storm to work with her and hopes to be able to take Jake soon also.  She is in the process of establishing her own home based rescue that will also be a member of the Healthipet Network.

 Illinois:  Lawrenceville

Lisa from Lawrenceville, IL  has been approved for a homechecker.  Her bio and picture will appear soon.  Thanks!

 Indiana:  Anderson

Rob from Anderson, IN has been working with birds for over 8 years now.  He is so into birds now that we think he may have gotten his "colorful" fashion sense from them.  LOL  Can you tell where the bird ends and he begins?

Chris from Washington, IN has had parakeets, quakers, cockatiels, amazons, and greys and now has his first Greenwing Macaw and a Bloe and Gold Macaw .   We will get his picture posted as soon as we get it.

Michelle from Beech Grove, IN has been approved for a home checker.  Her pic and bio will be posted soon.  Thank you!

Kentucky:  Fort Knox

Chris from Fort Knox, KY  I am from Fort Hood, Tx originally and where I met and married my husband, an Active Duty Soldier. We have been married for 14 years and have two daughters, Emily, age 13 years and Katelynn, age 17 months. We also have 2 Parakeets, 6 Cockatiels and a Blue-Fronted Amazon and a beagle named Bonnie. We are involved with Kentuckiana Feathered Friends, a Bird Club based out of Louisville, KY. My husband will be retiring Halloween 2008 after 22 years of service and multiple deployments and we will be heading off into the adventure of "Civilian Life", but, will probably stay around Fort Knox for a while. Go Army! Stay Cav!

Michigan:  Ypsilanti

Shanna from Ypsilanti, MI has been approved for a homechecker.   She runs Laki's Home Bird Rescue, which derives its name from Shanna's first rescue, Laki, a blue crowned conure.   Of course, Shanna has opted to keep Laki as a full time companion and ended up adopting him herself, but she has since then placed many wonderful companion birds into forever loving homes.

New Jersey:  Secaucus

Dorothy from Secaucus, NJ has been approved for a Homechecker.  She currently has about 35 birds in her care with most of them being rescues and rehomes.  She has canaries to macaws and has devoted much of her life to the welfare of these birds and any others she can help out.  She believes very strongly that all birds deserve a forever loving home.

New Mexico: Albuquerque

Harry from Albuquerque, NM with Kanoni (CAG) and Milo (B&G).  I'm lucky to work from home which allows me to spend time with my feathered friends.  I'm a member of several internet parrot groups where I'm always learning from others on how to improve the quality and variety of foods, foraging and the environment for my birds.  Combining these with reinforcing positive behavior, these parrots teach me something new everyday.

Karen from Albuquerque, NM with four of her gorgeous African parrots sitting on Santa's lap (aka Julie Murad of the Gabriel Foundation).  Karen has taught educational classes at schools about birds and also for The Gabriel Foundation.  She holds a wealth of knowledge that I am sure we will all want to tap into.

New York:  Troy

Laurie from Troy, NY has been approvved for a home checker.  Her pic and bio will be posted soon.  Thank you!

Oregon:  Keizer

Donna from Keizer, OR is shown here with her Tucumán Amazon.  A rare amazon listed on the CITES endangered list.  Donna started her love of birds with a parakeet and  has now had macaws and everything in between.  She currently has 30+ birds in her care and her and her husband are in the process of opening their own avian rescue.

Texas: Joshua

Pamela , from Joshua, TX. I am owned by Parker, my wonderful CAG, three chihuahuas, 8 miniature donkeys and one husband!  We love animals here on our farm and they are our life - without them there would be no life. If I can help just one animal find a loving, healthy, safe forever home then I feel that my ticket into heaven will be validated - we are all God's creatures!

Ellen from Los Fresnos, TX I've raised and shown dogs for a number of years.  Still, I decided my house was a bit empty and started looking into some smaller birds.  I adopted a 'retired' pair of Green Cheek Conures. LOL, they didn't realize they were retired though!  the pictures of the green cheek
babies are their babies.  I'll be keeping one and placing one once I find a suitable home - and after they are fully weaned. I've also got a White Bellied Caique named Samson.  I thoroughly enjoy him!  I'm continually amazed at how much all these beautiful creatures are teaching me. I am in 'learn' mode about everything bird related.  I
would eventually like to be able to set up an outdoor aviary and enjoy
other birds in a more natural type setting.  I don't yet know what kind
of birds or when it will happen... but it will :-)
